MEET OUR TEAM

2nd Act is a recovery-friendly workplace that fosters support, wellbeing and growth of individuals in recovery through a focus on harm reduction, prevention, and evidence-based practices. The majority of our staff, board and committees are either in recovery from a Substance Use Disorder or have lived experience with addiction either as a family member or close friend of someone with a Substance Use Disorder.

Board Chair - Kate Kataja (Boston, MA): Assistant Director, Board Relations at GBH, former Assistant Director of Development for Trinity Repertory Company, former Artistic Associate at The Wilbury Theatre Group, former resident director at Burbage Theatre Company, BA in Theater from Emerson College, Arts Administration Graduate Certificate from NYU

 

Vice Chair - Bradly Widener (Wiscasset, ME): Bradly Widener is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at 2nd Act and an experienced arts leader with a background in nonprofit strategy and operations. Bradly has held roles including Director of Operations at Paper Mill Playhouse and Director of Service & Experience at Trinity Repertory Company, with a strong focus on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Access (EDIA). A first-generation college graduate who understands the power of second chances, Bradly is committed to expanding 2nd Act’s reach and mission of using theater to spark healing and recovery conversations. Bradly lives in mid-coast Maine with husband Alexander and their dog Rudy, and manages finance and HR for a local school district while staying active in local arts communities.

 

Board Treasurer - Mark Danbom (Chagrin Falls, OH): Licensed CPA in Ohio and New York State; BS in Accounting, Colorado State University; MS in Taxation, Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Husband. Parent. Corgi Wrangler.

Board Clerk - Rachel Morgan (Harvard, MA): Early COAAST Outreach Coordinator; Human Factors Engineer at Eli Lilly and Co.; BS/MS in biomedical engineering; MS in systems engineering (Focus in human factors).

 

Artist Chair - Rachel Tondreault (Waltham, MA): Early actor with COAAST and continued with 2nd Act as a teaching artist for Act Now and is an actor in recovery. Certified Yoga Instructor.

Roger Oser (Boston, MA): Consultant for educators working with students in recovery and Co-Chair of the Boston Youth Service Network. BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree from The Citadel.

 

Tracy Wise (Bay Village, OH): Strategy Consultant at Women in Manufacturing; BS in Organizational Leadership, Penn State University, Executive MBA Candidate - Case Western Reserve University - Weatherhead School of Management.

Thomas Hankard (Beverly, MA): Thomas Hankard is a financial executive and community leader with extensive experience in credit union leadership and nonprofit governance. As CEO of Beverly Credit Union, he has led organizational growth with a focus on responsible lending and member service, earning recognition as a Credit Union Hero by Banker & Tradesman. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Cooperative Credit Union Association and has held numerous civic leadership roles, including District Governor for Rotary District 7930. Tom holds an MBA from Cambridge College and is a strong advocate for equity, civic engagement, and compassionate leadership.
